A few years ago I got the great opportunity to take pictures (and sample) some food for a restaurant's menu. They had found my ad on Craigslist, and even though I had no past experience with photographing food, they decided to take a chance on me. It was a super fun experience (and tasty :P). Their chefs essentially made every single item on their menu and then I got to photograph it, and was encouraged to sample afterwards. So much good food! The dessert pictures were my favorites. Anyone else getting hungry?
